ABOUT

Isher Dhiman is a London based award winning mixed media artist, with 20 years experience in creating artworks that originate from fashion and the figurative form, continually evolving to encompass everything from conceptual, figurative art, portraiture, florals, nature... to whatever inspires at a moment in time - after all it is all about captring a moment through one's artistic lens.

 

A solid foundation from her first degree in Economics, supplemented with higher education within the arts, having gained qualifications in Fashion Design and Fashion Illustraion from London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins, UAL, London and most recently completing Classical Portraiture at Hamstead School of Art and various illustration courses at House of Illustration. Isher has successfully worked in a multitude of fields across Fashion, Business, Education and the Arts.  She has had the pleasure of being invited to illustrate at London Fashion Week and London Craft Week, most recently at the runway of Paul & Joe SS23 collection at the Langham Hotel.

As a huge advocate of education in others, Isher introduced a teaching element to her creative practice in 2021, offering a range of workshops including Fashion Drawing, Mixed Media Art, Mindfulness through Art, Fashion Portraiture to name a few; which have seen her collbaorate with various art establishments including Drawing Cabaret Couture, 2bornot2bcollective, UAL for The Great Get Together and various schools across London, alongisde her private group and one to one workshops.   Isher really enjoys inspiring others to connect with their creativty and reap the mindfullness qualities that creating art brings.  Isher has also used her artistic skills to run fundraiser workshops to not only raise funds, but awareness of various health and topical issues including Sue Ryder, Mind, Parkinsons UK, and DEC for the war in Ukraine and Floods in Pakistan.

 

Isher loves the tangible nature of the variety of mixed media she works with.  The freedom and movement of watercolour teamed with the anticipation and unpredictability of the end result, is something she thrives on.   She enjoys the mindfulness nature of unplanned paper cut outs, in pure Matisse style, to add a layered contrast to hand drawn elements.  Isher enjoys the carbon black line of a piece of graphite or charcoal gliding across a page with trained effortlessness. She has a unique instinctive response to briefs, using her mastery of wet media, to create evocative conceptual work, that is harmonious and full of expression, often, reduced down to it’s essential form.  She invites the viewer to embrace their curiosity and applaud their intelligence in interpreting her artistic voice.

 

The depth and richness of her experience and desire to evolve is evident in her meticulous approach, forever curious and well researched to communicate an idea, message, emotion or state of mind with a strong narrative to support her visual language.

 

Clients include British Vogue, Space NK, Waitrose, Overdue Magazine, NCPA, Welcome Movement and many more.  Isher has exhibited across the world and is currently exhibiting with The CAMP gallery in Miami having taken part in various charitable fashion fundraisers through art sales, most recently Fashion Fights Cancer charity. Isher also launched a collection of NFT artworks to raise awarness of endangered animals collaborating with WWF.
