ABOUT

IMG_7604.JPG

Isher Dhiman is a London-based award-winning mixed media artist, educator, and mindfulness through art practitioner whose interdisciplinary practice explores creativity, observation, wellbeing, and human connection through art. Working across drawing, watercolour, mixed media, portraiture, fashion illustration, and figurative practice, her work continually evolves in response to the world around her, capturing moments, emotions, and experiences through an intuitive and expressive artistic lens.

Originally graduating with a degree in Economics, Isher later pursued her creative training through Fashion Design and Fashion Illustration at London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, alongside further studies in Classical Portraiture at Hampstead School of Art and illustration courses at House of Illustration. Her diverse background has enabled her to work fluidly across the worlds of fashion, education, contemporary art, wellbeing, and creative facilitation.

Alongside her studio practice, Isher is an Associate Lecturer at University of the Arts London (London College of Fashion), teaching across courses including Fashion, Costume for Performance, and Knowledge Exchange. Her teaching centres around the art of drawing, from observational practice and fashion illustration to drawing the human form, using creativity as a tool for communication, confidence, mindfulness, and connection within both educational and community settings.

Since 2020, Isher has expanded her creative practice into workshops, facilitation, and mindfulness through art programmes, delivering sessions for adults across museums, galleries, universities, schools, and cultural institutions throughout London. Her workshops combine technical guidance with reflective and mindful approaches to making, rooted in slow looking, observation, and restorative creative practice. Through drawing, painting, and collective creative experience, she encourages participants to reconnect with their creativity, wellbeing, and sense of presence.

Isher has collaborated with and facilitated workshops for a wide range of institutions and organisations including Tate, Wellcome Collection, Royal Academy of Arts, National Gallery, University of the Arts London, Drawing Cabaret Couture, 2bornot2bcollective, and community groups across London. She has also used her artistic practice to support fundraising and awareness initiatives for charities and causes including Mind, Sue Ryder, Parkinson’s UK, DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, and Pakistan Flood Relief campaigns.

Her commissioned work spans a broad range of creative projects including portrait commissions, magazine and book cover illustrations, live illustration at London Fashion Week and London Craft Week, branding and logo design, and bespoke visual storytelling projects. Across all aspects of her work, Isher is driven by a deep curiosity, sensitivity to human experience, and a desire to create meaningful visual and creative encounters.

Working predominantly with mixed media, watercolour, graphite, charcoal, and collage, Isher is drawn to the tactile and instinctive qualities of materials, embracing both precision and unpredictability within the creative process. Her work often balances expressive mark-making with layered conceptual narratives, inviting viewers to slow down, observe closely, and engage with the emotional and contemplative possibilities of art.

At the heart of her practice is a belief in the transformative and restorative power of creativity, not only as a form of artistic expression, but as a way of cultivating attention, reflection, wellbeing, and connection in everyday life.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

Word on the Street

Every time I have commissioned Isher I have found her brilliant, professional, always ahead of deadlines, easy to work with and just so apt at understanding and translating exactly what is required - no mean feat when it comes to illustration. As the Creative Director overseeing the creation and launch of the Space NK magazine, I asked Isher to create a watercolour image for the cover. It was so exquisitely done

Throughout the process, Isher was outstanding in her communication, understanding, attention to detail, patience and in the level of sensitivity and care towards the work. Because of who she is, she was able to capture and create the essence and energy of my vision for the artworks! Through my experience with Isher, I have learnt a lot about myself for the future and I am very grateful for taking this journey with her. I look forward to collaborating with her again in the future!

Welcome Movement

I can't recommend Isher enough!
South Asians for Sustainability is a voluntary passion project so close to my heart. Isher kindly offered to help with the campaign by designing the logo. We brainstormed initial ideas together and within a short space of time, she managed to capture every element exactly as I had envisioned. Her high quality of work, bespoke service and professionalism is impeccable.
Thank you so much Isher!
